The Art You Don’t Immediately Notice at Marbella Club Hotel, but Never Forget

For many American buyers discovering the Costa del Sol, Marbella Club Hotel represents the pinnacle of Mediterranean luxury. Lush gardens, timeless architecture, discreet elegance, and a feeling that life here moves at a different rhythm.

But what truly sets Marbella Club apart is something more subtle. Its soul lives in the details.

During a recent visit, I had the privilege of spending time with the artisans behind much of the hand-painted ceramic work you see throughout Marbella Club Hotel and its restaurants. Inés García Redondo and Edmond Llopis are responsible for many of the tiles, murals, signs, fountains, and decorative ceramic elements that quietly define the hotel’s identity.

Their work is everywhere, yet never asks for attention.

A Different Kind of Luxury in Marbella Club Hotel

If you walk through Marbella Club quickly, you might miss it.

But if you slow down, you begin to notice the hand-painted tiles adorned with flowers inspired by Andalusian gardens. The ceramic murals integrated into courtyards and restaurant walls. The beautifully painted signs marking each villa within the property, giving every house its own character and sense of place.

Even the fountains, the pathways, and the restrooms carry these details. Look closely and you will find delicate ceramic flowers painted where you least expect them.

Nothing is repeated. Nothing is industrial. Everything is intentional.

This is not decoration added after the fact. This is craftsmanship woven into the architecture itself.

The Hands Behind the Heritage

Inés and Edmond work with traditional techniques, shaping and painting each piece by hand. Their ceramics are designed to live with a space, to age gracefully, and to feel as though they have always been there.

Beyond large architectural works, they also create hand-painted houseware such as plates, dishes, tiles, and custom ceramic pieces for private residences. Each item is unique. Each piece carries the mark of the hand that created it.

For American buyers who value authenticity, provenance, and craftsmanship, this is the essence of European luxury.

Why This Matters When Buying a Villa in Spain

More and more of my clients from the United States are not just looking for a beautiful villa in Marbella or the Costa del Sol. They want a home that feels rooted in Spain, not something that could exist anywhere in the world.

This is where artisans like Inés and Edmond become essential.

A custom ceramic mural in an entryway. Hand-painted tiles in a kitchen or courtyard. Unique plates displayed as functional art. These details transform a property into a home with identity, history, and soul.

Introducing my clients to artisans who work behind the scenes at Marbella Club is something I consider a privilege. It allows them to personalize their homes with genuine Spanish heritage, not trends.

An Invitation to Look Closer

The next time you visit Marbella Club Hotel or dine in one of its restaurants, pay attention.

Notice the tiles. The murals. The villa signs. The fountains. The painted flowers tucked into quiet corners.

They are not just beautiful objects. They are stories, told in clay and color, by artisans whose work defines the timeless character of Marbella.
